Question: How do I properly tighten my chain saw chain?

Answer: Perhaps the best way to actually tighten the chain is to place the chain saw on a flat surface, loosen the bar nut(s), and lift the tip of the bar until the front of the chain saw wants to lift.  Now tighten the chain as described in the "Saw Chain F.A.Q.: How tight should the chain saw chain be?" section.  Once the chain has been properly adjusted, tighten the bar nut(s) while still maintaining the same pressure upward on the tip of the bar.

Once the bar nut(s) have been tightened you have properly adjusted your chain saw chain!
