Question: What is an Overhead Valve Engine?
Answer: Overhead valve (OHV) engine: On this style engine, the valves are located above the cylinder(s) rather than parallel to it. This enables the engine to develop more torque than a conventional (also called 'L Head') engine of the same size. OHV engines also run cooler and more efficiently as a result of this engine valve location.
