Children run over by ride-on lawnmower

THREE children have suffered chest and facial injuries after being run over by a ride-on mower/tractor at a property on Crane Street at Nerang.
The father of the three girls was driving the mower at the time of the accident. It is believed he suffered a seizure, although it is not known if that was the cause or the effect of the accident. He also sustained a back injury.
The mower rolled down a paddock, throwing the father off before rolling over the children.
One child, aged 8, suffered chest, face and arm injuries. A six-year-old sustained severe facial lacerations and a 4-year-old experienced chest pains.
All four family members have been transported to Gold Coast Hospital in a serious condition by ambulance. At 2pm they were reported to be in a stable condition.
Paramedics described them as 'a very lucky family'.
